Darak Tiny Remy

If I were not on a total dolly buying ban my next purchase would definitely be a Tiny Remy.

For those of you who have never seen this little cutie before she is a 16cm tiny BJD from Darak with the most adorable little face and the cutest freckles.

Photo from Darak – click to go to their site!

I love her big eyes and her smiley mouth!

One thing that is very interesting is that in most owner photos you will see that she has a couple of visible front teeth however in all Darak photos that I can find they are suspiciously missing – even to the point where I suspect some photoshopping going on. For example this:

Her mouth area looks a little…pixelated

I think I prefer without the teeth personally but I don’t think that’s actually an option.

So Tiny Remy comes in 3 shades – white, natural and tan – their tan looks similar to the Fairyland tan based on their photos. Oh and their tan Remy clearly shows her teeth!

Even though they have pictures of a Type A and Type B body on their site I have asked and only the Type A body is available. This is the basic option without the extra torso joint so it looks similar to a Lati doll.

Also cutest photo ever:

11So I will be spending my Easter long weekend exercising my self-control!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter (if you celebrate it).

P.S As I don’t actually own a Tiny Remy please note that all photos in this blog post have been taken from the Darak site 🙂

Dolly Buying Ban

As of yesterday I am on a complete dolly ban! *GASP*

Now I haven’t decided whether this includes things like dolly wigs/clothes and other accessories but if it doesn’t my spending will still be fairly limited (I hope) although with my brilliant self control I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up with more dolls than ever this month.

What this mostly means is that unless Latidoll get around to actually shipping the dolls I have on order you won’t be seeing many new dolls on this blog in the coming months but you will hopefully see more of my current collection!

I have also re-discovered that with the cooler temperature come daylight savings which means by the time I get home from work it is literally pitch black outside and my photography using lights still leaves a lot to be desired so I’m going to try and be a lot more productive during the weekends – but since the light in my dolly room is the best during early mornings…that’s going to be tough.

Anyway recently I discovered an eBay seller who had some very very cute Pukifee fur wigs for an insane price (approx $4.50AUD with free shipping) and since it was so cheap I decided to try it out.

Enter the new look Amy:

DSC05381 copyI am pretty impressed by this $4.50 wig! It’s not hemmed or anything but I do like that it’s not super poofy every where and it has a very natural look to it. I mean come on – it was $4.50! It fits nicely over a silicone wig cap and can be styled quite easily (within reason) with a dolly hairbrush – I find my old Monster High brushes work perfectly on a whole variety of wigs.

The wig arrived really really fast but oddly enough I actually ordered 2 wigs and they were shipped separately…and the second one hasn’t arrived yet…I should probably message the seller about that. I have since ordered a bunch more so hopefully they work as well as this one does.

If you want to check these wigs out on eBay just do a quick search for Pukifee Wig – there aren’t that many other wigs for sale anywhere near that price 🙂

I also spent Sunday night procrastinating about going to bed by giving Winnie some new, more natural eyelashes, new glass eyes and a new hairdo:

DSC05389 copy Isn’t she just the cutest?! I’m really liking my AQ16 doll more and more.

Even dollhouses need renovating sometimes!

The bottom floor of my dollhouse was just too yellow for my liking with it’s yellow wallpaper and supposedly ‘cream’ but mostly yellow carpets. It made the poor dolls look really washed out and well…yellow.

I ordered some new wallpaper recently after looking through paaaages and paaaages of eBay listings and finally got around to changing it over!

Renovation Complete!

While the renovations were going on I had to move all the girls up to the higher floors together-

DSC05281 copyI love how they look all squished together although it really brings home how many dolls I have – this is an old photo too, since then more have arrived!

Tiny Delf Alice

DSC05341 copyI finally have a Tiny Delf!

This has been a long time coming but my Tiny Delf Alice has finally arrived. She’s a gorgeous Real Brown Skin with the default Luts faceup and since she was purchased second hand so I don’t know if/how much she has yellowed over time.

While I really love the sweet, subtle Luts makeup she does has a tiny chip in her eyeshadow which is slowly driving me insane – thankfully her wig is covering it up for now.

L-R: Pukifee Tan, Lati Yellow Light Tan, Luts Real Skin Brown, AQ16 Real Skin Brown

These are the different shades of tan that I have in my collection – my favourite is still the Lati Yellow Light Tan which looks a little yellow in this picture but I think is a very realistic representation of a golden sun tan in real life. The Luts and AQ tans are also very nice although they tend towards the cooler browns than the golden Lati tan, I think I prefer the Luts tan slightly more than the AQ.

The Pukifee/Fairyland Tan is a different story – I think while it photographs beautifully in real life it comes across slightly grey and mauve-ish and lacks the warmth of the other companies. It’s probably more of a natural skin colour than a colour achieved by a sun tan if that makes sense!

You can also see here that Tiny Delfs are pretty much identical in size to a Lati Yellow however her head is a bit bigger – or at least her forehead area. This means that all my silicone wig caps don’t come close to fitting her – except the actual Luts ones (makes sense!). I also found her head cap very loose though it is held on by a magnet, it’s very easily removed even if most of the time that’s not on purpose.DSC05357 copyThe general consensus in the BJD community is that the tiny delf body is great and has great posability – closer to that of a Pukifee than a Lati Yellow. She definitely stands very solidly and I have no worries of her falling over. In fact while trying to get the four dolls to line up in a row for the photo above I gained a new respect for the Tiny Delf and her ability to stand up! My Lati Yellow just did not want to stand – even with shoes on – her knees would buckle and she would topple over, this is surprising since my other Latis have been quite good so I’m chalking this one up to loose stringing?

The one problem I have with Alice and probably Tiny Delfs in general are her arms. DSC05339 copyI hate them with a passion.

Keep in mind that my doll is second hand and might just be really loose but I find her arm/shoulder joints seriously problematic. They pop out of their joints way too easily and end up looking deformed most of the time.

Her arm looks broken…

DSC05351 copy

Opps joint popped out again!

DSC05349 copy

Very unnatural elbow…

Now I don’t know if it’s just me but I am struggling to get these arms into any sort of natural position. I would love to hear from anyone who has a Tiny Delf who has worked out how to pose these little guys!

My second problem is with her shoulders – I can’t get them down enough to have her arms by her side without it looking like I completely dislocated her shoulders, what am I doing wrong!?

DSC05345 copy

This is about as far as I can get her arms to go down by her side while still looking ‘natural’

Now besides from the arms I find the Tiny Delf body to be at least as a good, if not better than a Lati Yellow (well definitely better in the standing department!). Besides the additional chest joint they are pretty similar from the waist down, Alice can sit nicely and her legs/hips can lock into a series of different positions easily.

DSC05353 copyShe also has really nice and chubby little hands! I think these are adorable and quite realistic.

So while I think Alice is very cute and I’m happy to have a Luts doll in my collection, I don’t know if Tiny Delfs are my cup of tea – thankfully this means I won’t need to bring home anymore!

Introducing Hadley!

She definitely has a certain charm though…

Not sure if you have worked it out already but I have about zero patience…at times it’s in the minuses…yet I still continue to order from Lati doll who I am well aware are waaaay behind on their orders.

My basic order that I placed in November (Nov 1 to be exact) is apparently still in the middle of ‘processing’ according to the not very helpful Lati Q+A. This is after giving me an estimate of early Feb, then middle Feb then…early March.

The main issue I have with Lati is their seemingly random order fulfillment, based on the waiting room on DoA I know that people who have ordered basics weeks AFTER me have had their orders shipped out in Jan – what does this mean Lati!? Shouldn’t you be making these dolls in the order you receive payment or am I just far too logical?

I also know that there are plenty of people who have been waiting far longer than me for their dollies so I definitely shouldn’t be complaining but…I WANT MY DOLLIES NOW!

Aaaaand /rant.

XoX Cassemina

P.S My DDE order arrived last week (Bonnie + Luna) and I can’t wait to introduce them!

Even though my iMac died and I know it needs to be replaced ($$$) I have somehow ended up 4 more dolls on their way. I think I have some serious self-control issues!

There are a couple of new dolls coming who I am super excited to blog about – Dandy Jadu and Tiny Delf Alice! It should be really interesting to see how they go up against my Pukifees and Latis.

Also on their way are Lati Yellow Sunny (I can’t get enough of her) and Pukifee Flora – in my defence…at least Flora was on my Wishlist!
